about us

The Open Road Foundation was originally established in 2008 to provide victim assistance, fund scholarships, educational endeavors, and other relevant causes in support of professional truck drivers and those supporting the trucking and logistics industry in North America. The Foundation is a Texas Corporation and is organized as a public charitable foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees which is responsible for executing the stated mission of the organization which is: To work with transportation and logistics companies within the AVC Partners portfolio and other eligible companies to support victim assistance, educational and other relevant programs important to the development of professional truck drivers and their dependents.

As a part of its program, The Foundation sponsors and supports a victim assistance fund to financially assist eligible associates impacted by disaster and/or personal circumstances. Funds are granted on a case-by-case basis. The Foundation also provides educational scholarships to students enrolled in or applying to accredited four-year institutions of higher learning, junior colleges, and vocational schools. Associates of AVC Partners portfolio companies, along with their immediate family members, are eligible. Scholarships are awarded annually. All funds are administered at the discretion of the Open Road Foundation Board of Trustees.
